The Evolution of Outsourcing

The Evolution of Outsourcing

BPO’s are no longer just call centres …

The outsourcing industry is evolving to suit the ever-changing needs of the clients. Once upon a time, people assumed outsourcing meant hiring hundreds, if not thousands of staff to answer telephone calls, but things have rapidly moved on from this.

Today, outsourcing is becoming more about hiring skilled staff and less to do with robotic style, mundane work. Why? Because that mundane work can now be automated. Naturally, due to this shift, there is a lot of worry surrounding the automation of tasks previously carried about by us humans. Mainly these worries are fears surrounding the loss of jobs and ultimately the closure of businesses who manage these tasks.

However, this doesn’t have to be a negative situation. Those who evolve will survive!

We choose to look at the positive side of all this. Automation is bringing more interesting opportunities to everyone. We now have assistance with monotonous and even dangerous tasks, which means we can use our time and our brains to be more creative, to think more! And the truth is that human intervention will still be needed for a very long time. Machines aren’t taking over. Automation isn’t going to end us. This is the start of a new era. An era where we use these machines to help us become faster, smarter, safer and more efficient.

Our tasks will change, but the need for humans in the loop will remain.

At InfoSource, we are learning and evolving every day and we are delighted to be working on more and more projects that are here because of this demand for automation!

We are very excited about the evolution of outsourcing and being a part of the fourth industrial revolution! Looking forward to what’s next!
